Founded in 2009, Rivian is one of the new players in automotive manufacturing and their focus is currently on electric trucks and SUVs, a segment largely unfilled thus far. Most electric vehicles on the market today are small passenger vehicles marketed toward families and tech or environmentally focused drivers. Rivian is looking to capture a part of the market previously unencumbered with such concerns: truck owners.

While Rivian has not made many headlines since they were established 9 years ago, they plan to launch two battery-electric trucks in mid-2020: a pickup and a three-row SUV that will deliver “the acceleration of a Ferrari with the off-road capability of a Rover or Jeep.”

It’s currently unclear if Rivian will have the funding to continue with full fledged production but we will be eagerly awaiting an anticipated official unveiling this November.
