Toyota Kenworth Partnership Brings Fuel Cells to Big Rigs

Toyota announced at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) that they will partner with Kenworth, the American maker of medium and heavy-duty Class 8 trucks, in order to develop a fleet of 10 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Ford Establishes Autonomous Vehicle Division

Ford Motor Company has announced the creation of Ford Autonomous Vehicles LLC to further their development of self-driving car technology. Over the next 5 years, the automaker plans to invest 4 billion dollars in autonomous vehicle technology. Audi and Hyundai Partner on Fuel Cell Tech

Audi AG and Hyundai Motor Group have announced a partnership to develop fuel cell technology with the goal of increasing their presence in the fuel cell electric vehicle market. Hyundai was actually the first mass producer of fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) but is not currently a major player in the market. They did recently introduce the Nexo, the first dedicated hydrogen-powered SUV. Q1 Decrease in USA Passenger Car Sales

Q1 of 2018 has shown a definite decrease in passenger car sales in the US. Overall sales declined 2.4% in February compared to 2017. Consumer interest is shifting again to larger vehicles and a prolonged period of low gas prices has encouraged these sales.
